The course of work with chrome-plated parts is in many ways similar to painting other elements of a car, but it has its own nuances and essential features. We have outlined some of the main key stages:
1.The preparatory stage, during which the decorative, chrome-plated elements of the car are dismantled
for further work.
2.Our masters remove chromium from the surface of the car detail using an optimal concentration of ferric chloride solution so as not to spoil the car part. After about 12 hours, the chromium-free elements are thoroughly washed with water.
3.Preparation for painting – the part is thoroughly degreased and cleaned, the priming process is performed using a plastic primer in several layers with intervals between application of 15-20 minutes. Next, the detail is sanded to eliminate all irregularities.
4.The dechromed surface of the car detail is painted using a special spray gun in the paint chamber in 2 layers to achieve optimal density and durability of the paint coating.

It is unrealistic to bend the film under the plastic (when cutting along the entire length, a chrome strip 0.5 mm wide will remain).
